Set eight months after the tragic Aberfan disaster of 1966, The Revlon Girl tells the story of a group of bereaved mothers who meet in secret above a local pub. Struggling with grief and guilt, they invite a representative from Revlon to speak to them about beauty tips—an act of quiet defiance and self-care in the face of unimaginable loss.

Blending heartbreak with humour, this touching play explores resilience, friendship, and the strength of ordinary women navigating extraordinary circumstances.

Director, Dave Eyre commented: “I stumbled across this when a friend of mine gave me a copy to read and I was immediately hooked by the story - I couldn’t put it down.”

“The play resonated with me straight away as I could remember as a twelve year old boy watching old black and white tv pictures of the Aberfan disaster on the news. it was probably the first ‘disaster’ that was ever seen on TV.

“The play itself is set eight months after the disaster in 1966. 144 people were killed (116 of them children) and The Revlon Girl tells the real life story of a group of bereaved mothers who meet every week above a local hotel to talk, cry and laugh without feeling guilty.”
